As a versatile multi-instrumentalist, Kane plays acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and keys. He is also an accomplished audio engineer and producer, running his own 10th Floor Studio in Pittsburgh. Under his independent label Cerulean Sky Records, he releases music as the solo artist KANE, handling songwriting, vocals, instruments, and production duties with a clear artistic vision that honors the spirit of classic rock while adding a polished, modern edge.

Born and raised in the Youngstown, Ohio area, Rob's passion for music began at an early age. Alongside neighborhood friends, he built cardboard guitars and drum sets in the garage, painted his face, and dreamed of becoming the next member of KISS. At home, his father—an art teacher who designed theatrical sets for school productions—introduced him to an eclectic world of music. In addition to sharing his own record collection, Rob's father often brought home albums recommended or loaned by his students, exposing Rob to an ever-expanding variety of artists and musical styles. From Broadway cast recordings to classic rock icons like Foreigner and Journey, along with Ian Gillan's unforgettable performance in the original Jesus Christ Superstar, those early listening experiences instilled in Rob a lifelong appreciation for powerful vocals, unforgettable melodies, and emotionally driven songwriting. By high school, that passion had evolved into performance, and an audition to replace a departing lead singer earned him his first frontman role—launching a musical journey that has continued for decades.

One of the defining moments of Rob's career came with the release of Apocalyptic Lovers: Redemption Vol. I. Produced by Josh Roman and mixed by legendary producer Michael Wagener (Ozzy Osbourne, Dokken, Skid Row, White Lion, Metallica, Alice Cooper, and many others) and released on National Record Store Day in 2016, the EP showcased Rob's dynamic vocals and introduced his artistry to a wider audience.

Rob has become a respected voice in the Pittsburgh and regional hard rock community. Throughout his career, Rob has performed on stages ranging from local clubs to the legendary Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles, sharing stages with acclaimed national artists including FireHouse, Winger, Enuff Z'Nuff, L.A. Guns, Nelson, Stryper, Aldo Nova, Autograph, Tora Tora, SteelHeart, and original KISS drummer Peter Criss. He currently serves as the lead vocalist for XDB, featuring acclaimed guitarist Xander Demos, and has also performed with Apocalyptic Lovers, Love In Chains, and Metal Heart. These diverse projects have allowed Rob to continually expand his artistry while remaining firmly rooted in the melodic hard rock tradition that defines his sound.

Rob's recording credits span a wide range of projects, including KANE, his solo recordings, XDB, Love In Chains, Apocalyptic Lovers, and Metal Heart. Beyond these projects, Rob has contributed background vocals to SteelCity's Reverence (Frontiers Records) and has appeared on two FNA Records tribute releases. His featured vocal performance of "Down Boys" on Song and Dance Man: A Tribute to Warrant and Jani Lane was selected by a committee that included Jani Lane's daughter, Madi Lane. Most recently, Rob recorded the title track, "Back for More," for Back for More: A Tribute—celebrating the music of RATT—with Sean Magee providing lead guitar.

Whether performing with his bands, collaborating with fellow musicians, or producing his own recordings, Rob continues to bring the passion, precision, and authenticity of classic melodic rock into the modern era. Throughout his career, Rob Kane has been involved in a variety of rock projects as a vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, producer, and performer. From his early days in the Cleveland–Youngstown–Pittsburgh rock scene to his current work with KANE and other musical ventures, each project represents a different chapter of his musical journey.

BANDS AND PROJECTS

Metal Heart – A collaborative recording project with Nashville songwriter and guitarist Ross Santos, Metal Heart showcases a modern melodic rock sound. Rob performs lead vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards, and production duties on the project's releases, including the singles "Essence" and "Mysterious."

XDB (featuring guitarist Xander Demos) – Rob serves as lead vocalist for XDB, the melodic hard rock band led by acclaimed guitarist Xander Demos. The band is currently recording its debut full-length album, Gods of Aliens, following the release of the singles "Love of My Life," "When the Love Is Gone," and "Give Me Your Love."

Love In Chains – Co-founded with fellow Youngstown area native and SteelCity guitarist Mike Floros, Love In Chains has released the album Everyday Heroes and the hometown tribute The Rust Belt EP. The band is currently completing its next full-length studio album, Good Lovin'.

Apocalyptic Lovers – Rob is the lead vocalist for Apocalyptic Lovers, whose critically acclaimed EP Redemption Vol. I was produced by Josh Roman and mixed by legendary producer Michael Wagener (Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Dokken, Skid Row, Alice Cooper, White Lion, and many others).
